Sony is planning on launching a Sony S1 Playstation tablet, which will be compatible with PS1 games. This device now has an estimated release date and price tag.
Sony looks set to join the tablet party after all with a 9.4-inch device being touted with serious gaming credentials.
As well as getting their hands on this mock-up image, Engadget claims to have had the device confirmed by “trusted and independent sources” that say the slate, codenamed “S1” will run on Google’s Android 3.0 Honeycomb OS.
In terms of key features, Sony’s recently launched Qriocity service will play a major role in helping the S1 to deliver music, games, ebooks and video on demand content.
The tablet will have a dual core processor and will run Android Honeycomb (3.0) version. It would feature a 9.4 inch touchscreen with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels.
This dual-core Android Honeycomb tablet has a slated release date of September 2011 and will come at a price tag of $599 (~ Rs. 27,554).
