Nokias latest model to their range, the new E7, is reminiscent of the popular N97 model. Featuring a full Qwerty keypad and high quality screen, the unit displays the perfect balance between a smartphone and a high end messaging device. As with the majority of Nokia handsets, the build quality found on the E7 is extremely high. The slider design, often a weak point with many models, feels robust and very solid. The handset is finished in a brushed metal finish which not only looks superb but feels expensive when in your hands. The screen on the phone dominates the majority of the front, and when in use the display is of a very high standard. The use of AMOLED technology ensures that not only do colours maintains a real richness, viewing in sunlight is improved over other technologies such as TFT. At a resolution of 640 x 360 pixels, graphics have a real clarity and the picture is also enhanced my Nokias incorporation of their own Clear Black system. The ClearBlack display is a filter that effectively blocks light from entering the screen, greatly improving colour reproduction, as well as allowing for better results outdoors. The screen also excels when it comes to everyday day tasks such as scrolling through album artworkthanks to its capability of display 60 frames per second. Durability is good thanks to the incorporation of Gorilla Glass which boasts excellent scratch resistant properties.

Looking around the Nokia E7, a good array of ports are located on the device for connection to other units. One such feature that stands out is the excellent HDMI socket. This enables the phone to be easily connected to a high definition television in order to watch stored media, including your own movies you have shot using the handsets excellent HD video capture. A micro USB allows for simple linking with a home computer, and the 3.5mm jack plug enables a great choice of headphones to be used with the phone, perfect for music lovers. Speaking of audio files, the E7 has the ability to handle a wide range of file formats which include MP3 and WMA. With regards to photography the phone includes a digital camera facility which can snap pictures at a high resolution of 8 million pixels, more than 50 per cent better than the 5 mega pixel industry standard. In order to make taking a photo an easier task, useful features such as face detection and a dual LED flash improve the chances of capturing the perfect shot.
The Nokia E7 excels as a smartphone, but add to the equation the excellent Qwerty keypad and you have a phone for both business and personal users that is backed up by good multi media features and impressive styling.
